Room 8

Room 8 also learnt the melody to the piece Bounce on marimba this week. They practised in pairs and then performed in two groups.

This group worked so well together to figure out the notes and their order in rhythm and in the end they all played like experts! Ka pai to mahi!





Room 9

Room 9 have been using the rhythm of a piece called Bounce with different types of percussion. This week they learnt the melody on marimba working in pairs.











Kahu Classes Soundscapes of a Film Scene

The focus for Kahu classes in term one has been music in film. After learning about the conventions of music in film and the famous film score composer John Williams, they created soundscapes for a possible film scene. Room 10 performed theirs, with some of Room 11 making up the groups, this week.



Room 6

Room 6 learning the bass line for their marimba arrangement, keeping the beat exact and not forgetting rests.







Listening Glyphs

Tui classes have been enjoying working with some listening glyphs to help with our discussion of different pieces of music. This week Room 12 were completing part of The Swan from Camille Saint-Saens' The Carnival of the Animals, they listen for certain aspects of the piece then colour the picture accordingly.
